THE ALLERGIES: Coming On Strong

The Allergies release the last cut off their three-part spring/summer EP So Real with the arrival of Coming On Strong. If the title track was the blissed-out summery one and Bye Bye Baby was the full-on, breakbeat dancefloor face-melter, you could say this is somewhere between the two (though arguably closer to the former) as they splice a vocal by Twist & Shout legend Chubby Checker to a loose-limbed groove that flexes itself just enough to get a bit of a breeze under the t-shirt. Which means they’ve pitched it about right, given the humidity.
