The Get On Down label are really going large on the analogue special releases this autumn and so apparently are the music buying public. The special edition ‘Purple cassette’ re-release of Chef Raekwon’s Only Built For Cuban Linx sold out so quickly I didn’t even have time to post about it. I’m still mystified as to why anyone could go batshit about the shittest format ever to carry audio in the digital age but this limited vinyl release is something I do get. It’s like this: there are 500 copies of a double LP in red vinyl of the soundtrack to the forthcoming RZA-directed, Lucy Liu/ Russell Crowe/ RZA-starring The Man With Iron Fists, with a silk screen wraparound cover and a bonus seven inch (not on the soundtrack) featuring Ghostface Killah, Sheek Louch & Inspectah Deck. The project is highly limited (since the seven inch will never be produced again) and William Hill are currently taking bets about how quickly it will sell out. Probably.
The soundtrack is due out at the end of the month (full stream below) as are videos for Kanye West’s White Dress and RZA feat. The Black Keys Baddest Man Alive. It wasn’t hard to decide which one to post the video for. Sorry hamster cheeks. Video below album player…
