Rarely has a track been so aptly named but the dancefloor action resulting from any DJ dropping Shake is likely to be fairly monumental. The track is an uptempo funky disco banger with hypnotically pulsing bass, Latin percussion and newest Funk Embassy Records signing RETI (a.k.a Estonian singer Reti Neiimann) throwing her voice all over the place. A little bit ESG, a little bit Chaka Khan, the track was co-penned by producer Martin Laksberg (who has worked with RETI’s labelmates Lexsoul Dancemachine and Rita Ray) in just a single day, incredibly. And creating it wasn’t even the reason they were in the studio! Such is often the way. You do have to hope that a 12″ and a slew of remixes will follow.
