Hamburg dj/ producers Mzuzu and Suro a.k.a. Pitch & Scratch release their second LP of funky sampled breaks Together – a twelve-tracker which picks up where the duo left off with previous LP Hamburg Hustle. It dips into jazz, afrobeat, P-Funk, electro and disco and is hornier than a two-headed goat with not one but three brass sections – The Diazpora Horns, The Boxhorns and The Superbad Horns. Also, this time around they’ve added vocalists. New Orleans-born Wayne Martin lends his bassy-growl on the soul-jazzy Papa Never Was A Genius, UK rapper Seanie T appears on Pitch Me And Scratch Me, Brazilian chanteuse Leila Pantel helps out on two tracks and German chart botherer Alexandra Prince appears on Funk Is Ruling My Head. This notwithstanding, the best cut is still dirty electro disco squelcher Breakers Delight which rides a pummelling breakbeat to uprock heaven. Can’t say fairer than that.
