In the sort of close international collaboration that populist politicians could learn a thing or two from, Mr Doris, D-Funk, N’Fa Jones and Cantaloop come together from the four corners of the globe (well, the UK, Ibiza, Oz and NZ at any rate) for All Down. The result is a highly agreeable hip-hop bump possessed of a mellowness also signally missing from international relations these days. The beat fuses a staccato drum break with subtle washes of wah-wah and retro organ licks while emcees N’Fa and ‘Loop relay how they’re ‘all down’ for the party. The package wil no doubt garner additional popular support for the inclusion of an Aldo Vanucci remix that flips the original beat for a rolling slab of laid back vintage funkiness for the full late 90s vibe. And the monkey’s all down with that.
