Time for a new Morlack EP on Breakbeat Paradise? Oh go on then! A three-tracker consisting of two nu-disco cuts and a funky breaks you say? Tell me more then. Well, it’s kind of a nu-disco sandwich as it goes with the filling being the mambo-breaks of Mambocool which does its bit to reduce the inexplicable under-representation of mambo influences in party breakbeat music and is arguably the monkey’s favourite of the trio. That’s not to say the opener and title track or closer Feeling Tight are slouches though. The former makes hefty use of and significantly re-imagines a certain Donna Summer cut in a heavy nu-disco stylee while the latter does much the same with a certain banger by AL Jarreau who gets the 4:4 drum track he always wanted but never realised.
