Dropping shortly, the next release on Markey Funk’s Delights label is the first solo outing in four years from the big man himself. Yep, the new 45 is a Markey solo effort featuring Barrier on the one side and Chronoscope on the flip. The first of these is an extremely funky slice of retro horror-themed soundtrack characterised by drums from Markey cohort Sagi Sachs, snarling wah-wah guitar and keys – with the presence of the latter becoming gradually more intensive over the track’s course culminating in a crescendo of menace. On the flip it’s all about Chronoscope, equally funky and creepy but more uptempo – like being chased in a turbocharged 70s hearse by Blacula.
