LACK OF AFRO: Lost In A Friend’s Eye

Here’s another Lack Of Afro single, strangely entitled Lost In A Friend’s Eye and lifted from his ‘lost tracks’ LP due in November. Could the name be another pun – as in “Lost in a ‘frenzy'”? Well, LOA does have form on that score. After all, the album’s title is From The Volt as in ‘From the vault‘ – geddit? Perhaps not though after all, since this one’s every bit as mellow as Summer Nights which preceded it – a dreamy, slo-mo breakbeat soul vehicle for singer Elliot Cole that originally dropped in 2015, appeared on the soundtrack for Dr Foster and then vanished from digital availability instead of blowing up. Unlike the Hammond used on it by George Cooper which very much blew up shortly after the recording session – almost as if recognising that it’s contribution couldn’t be bettered. Who says Hammond organs don’t have feelings?
