Batman On Horseback? Has our Kid been been on a nostalgia trip and broken out the old graphic novels? After all, as any connoisseur of the genre knows, Batman appeared on horseback in Frank Miller’s classic 80s superhero reboot The Dark Knight Returns. The answer is – er – no. In fact the ‘batman on horseback’ of the track appears to be some council estate chancer caught on dashcam footage in this new single which eschews the stream-of-consciousness bars of recent drops for a more focussed lambasting of Pound Shop male posturing. Indeed were it not for the title of this one, you could be forgiven for thinking the lyric was ‘badman on horseback.’ Still there he is with ‘secondhand bashmags stuffed in…[his]…bumbag,’ on an intense clap-powered beat from Spectacular Diagnostics. This is the first single to be taken from Kid Acne’s forthcoming long player, Hauntology Codes.
