KELLY FINNIGAN: Love (Your Pain Goes Deep)

The Monophonics’ Kelly Finnigan has his second LP out this autumn but it’s no good dropping that before putting a single or two out is it? Of course it isn’t! So here’s new one and lead single, Love (Your Pain Goes Deep) a corking deep soul groover with bluesy chord progressions, orchestral soul strings and Mr F actually not singing in a falsetto. Perfect for soundtracking heartache in other words. Sounds a bit familiar though right? Of course it does! It’s a cover of the 1967 cut by Frankie Beverly & The Butlers. Album, A Lover Was Born follows on 18 October – no doubt after another single or two.
(Out now on Colemine Records)
