The latest monkey-friendly offerings from Katakana Edits are the reggae-hip-hop soundclash of Vol. 32 from Timewrap and the late 70s indulgence of Vol. 33 from (who else?) Morlack. Timewrap ensures good vibrations when he incorporates a bit of Meff and DMC over Willie Williams’ Armagideon riddim on DubRealMC and supplies an instro version too. Morlack on the other hand hops in and out of bed with Patrice Rushen (Hang It Up), cheesy calypso (Bom Bom), vintage Ray Parker Jr (Love Thing), and more island vibes (though this time of the reggae kind) on Ganja Man, all rebooted with his trademark crunchy beats to provide party vibes – whatever your musical orientation. As long as you like big breaks too! These have been out a while so expect Vols. 34 and 35 early next month…
