There’s no famine of ideas over at Bulabeats HQ as Johnnypluse releases new mid-tempo breakbeat single Raw Like Spuds. An instro, this latest nugget from your man employs what sounds like the venerable Funky Drummer break well-baked amid FX and lashings of synth for a more introspective cut than he might have dropped of yore. Mind you come to think of it, last cut Stepping Together from back in December was mellower than the old JP too. Then again, it’s entirely possible that, after his temporary disillusionment and retirement from the music scene, JP has come back older, wiser and, well, more chilled. The track is taken from a three-tracker entitled The Clinkies which drops early March.
