J.Dynamite follows previous single Re-education with new one Sables Du Temps. And if your education didn’t school you with enough French to translate that – it’s the Sands Of Time – which on this particular effort seem to be blowing directly back to the 1970s on a cinematic Afro-Funky-Latin tip. It all starts out rather sparsely with just a drum break and it’s some time before this desert skeleton of a rhythm is graced with claps and horns, forty seconds before a bass appears and it’s not until a minute in that the Moog topline appears – rather like some sort of caravan wending its way among the dunes. But then this is a leisurely five minutes long so it’s not like there isn’t time to take. Sables Du Temps will appear on J.Dynamite’s forthcoming LP The Powers That Be.
