Back with new single, The Thinking Tree, after six whole years (!) since LP Night Of The Living Bassbins, Innereyefull appears to be in rude health. The track opens with bubbling organ rising out of silence, subsequently joined by ethereal and (initially non-lyrical) vocals from Sammi Evans who properly gets going as the beat hits. Then it’s all about this place she goes to be free, down by the river, the thinking tree – presumably carried there by a juggernaut of a dub-reggae riddim as on this. Which all bodes well for forthcoming LP Return Of The Inner Eye, due next year. The band recently supported Jah Wobble and you can catch them supporting Dub Catalyst in October.
