GLEN ANTHONY HENRY: Thankful b/w Fade Away (Vinyl 7″)

There’s a lovely 45 right here in the shape of forthcoming Rocafort Records’ vinyl 7″ from Glen Anthony Henry. Imagine, if you will, Black Pumas’ Eric Burton singing a Black Pumas type melody over a rolling midtempo drum break, smouldering organ and crybaby guitar wah and you’ll be ballpark for the vibe of Side A Thankful‘s paean to friendship. Over on the flip, things get slower and more intense for the lilting Fade Away while Henry adopts (at least for some of the time) a falsetto for additional seventies soul style brownie points. Both tracks were produced in analog by Oscar Martos for that all-important warmth.
