Genre-mashing gunslingers the Dub Pistols return next month with new single Pistoleros, the lead single off album Return Of The Pistoleros which is also out next month. Combining a Mexican horns fanfare with drum n bass rhythms, the original has very much the vibe of the General Mapache’s permanently pissed and crazy army in Sam Peckinpah’s The Wild Bunch and comes with a host of remix allies. These consist of some abrasive, unshaven ghetto funk from WBBL, Jinx In Dub‘s sleepy borracho riddim version, King Yoof‘s party borracho dnb and, best of all, the rollin, skankin, mustachio-twirling hip-hop speed breaks of General Narco‘s remix. You’ll have to wait for all audio except for the original though…
(Out June on Sunday Best Recordings)
