MORLACK: Good To Go Go Vol. V

Who better to deliver the thirtieth release on the Funk Blasters label than the head honcho himself, Morlack? And what better release than Vol. V of Good To Go Go, the latest instalment of a series of heavyweight breaks which chops up Morlack’s beloved DC Go-Go a.k.a the music which has had Washington D.C. rocking since the funk era. Good To Go-Go Vol. V turns the party out with five cuts that chop up Go-Go stars such as GoGo Allstars, AM/FM, Rare Essence, and a bit of EU. Is that last a political statement? Nope – it’s a reference to DC outfit Experience Unlimited. But no Chuck Brown you gasp!? Actually yes – on closer Woody’s Groove. And this being Morlack, let’s not forget additional vox plundered from all over the place – ODB and Cyndi Lauper on Let Me See You Go Go and – er – Nancy Cartwright (a.k.a. Bart Simpson) and Michael Jackson on opener Go-Go Bart. Morlack then, terrorizing people wherever he go-gos. It ain’t intentional, he’s just keepin the flow!
