Brother Wallace’s first new release since his debut long player Electric Love dropped in May is rousing new soul single Honey. The track is another blistering uptempo affair that opens with a piano intro before drums and vocals enter the fray in a way that Wallace says, “gets the blood flowing and the party going.” Looks like the songwriting partnership between Wallace and The Heavy’s Dan Taylor is still flourishing too, for Taylor both co-wrote and produced Honey which was mixed by Jim Abbiss who has worked with both Adele and Arctic Monkeys. Given the success of the recent tour, it’s probably safe to assume that this is the first sign of work on a new album. A swift turn around the lowlands of northern Europe plus gigs in Paris, Berlin and Hamburg will be followed by two more UK dates at London’s Courtyard theatre on 5 September and the End of the Road Festival in Wiltshire the next day.
