Resident doctors might be about to strike but Southside Sound Surgeons will ensure the dancefloor is plenty healthy at least when the post-Xmas/ NYE blues hit in January. Yep, WeeG & Si Cheeba are back on Echo Chamber sub-label Echo-Labs with a brand new 45 and providing just what you need to liven up the cold and the dark. That’ll be two tracks drenched in summery heat and big breaks then. On the B-side it’s all about getting the party started with – well – Follow Me (To The Party) which heads for the Brazil cutting up the brass and old school rap shout-outs over pulsing, throbbing bass and a disco-breakin drum pattern on the way. Paradoxically, that perfectly preps punters for hands-in-the-air A-side Calling All Dancers which announces itself with a Jamaican callout before exploding into an elastic-bassed, disco-breakin Afro-boogie trip to the stars. I’ll have doubles please barman!
