Lovers of jazzy boom-bap rejoice for AE productions have just dropped this 7″ remix EP of Opportunity Knocks by San Francisco emcees Paavo & Hugo Monster. Originally produced by J (a.k.a. Cut Beetlez’ J-Man) and DJ Mo Money, this drop features no fewer than four remixes: one from Mo Money himself, a second from Jazz Spasticks, a third from World Expo (a.k.a Soundsci’s Jonny Cuba and Ollie Teeba) and a fourth from Jazzual Suspects. The first and last of these go for the jazziest of beats, with Mo Money’s more in-your-face and Jazzual Suspects going for for a more low-key stoner haze vibe. Jazz Spastiks production is more reminiscent of 93′ Til Infinity-era Souls Of Mischief while, for the monkey’s money, it’s all about the chunk of World Expo’s version full of bass piano key rumble and horn stabs over juggernaut drums.
