An essential new heavy funk 45 release from Rocafort Records here who do the decent thing and drop two massive bangers from early in Millie Jackson’s career. Both are taken from the It Hurts So Good LP sessions in the spring of 1973 (a vintage year!) and this is the first time they’ve ever been issued on vinyl 7″! Now That You Got It is a squelchily funky challenge to a new flame to play it straight rather than be a playa while the flip offers an alternate version of Hypocrisy on the B-side. The latter is slightly more uptempo and grittier than both this release’s A-side and the LP version though both cuts feature Jackon’s distinctive feminine rasp.
