They might both have been around for ages but there’s no slacking of energy in either The Dub Pistols or Freestylers camps on the new single as they opt to bring Jamaica’s most pneumatic and uptempo musical genre into the twenty-first century with the aid of some party breakbeat stylings, JA 13 and someone who’s been around longer than any of the above – none other than Jamaican legend Derrick Morgan! And you know what that means. That’s right, it means all aboard the Ska Train (a different one to either The Skatalites or Beatmasters ones) for a total banger that is sure to be a future festival highlight and set closer! Perhaps a video to celebrate? Yeah, why not! Maybe one featuring said mythical train complete with on-board sound system and a speaker-stack so unfeasibly high it would cause utter carnage at the first tunnel – or indeed overhead bridge – all overlaid with a rather fetching grainy, retro-colour filter. Yep, that should do it! Surely there has to be a 45 version of this at some point? Ska Train is the first single off forthcoming long player Enter the Sound.
