THE CIRCLE OF CONFUSION feat. CORNELL CAMPBELL: Yesterday Was History (Vinyl 7″)

THE CIRCLE OF CONFUSION feat. CORNELL CAMPBELL: Yesterday Was History (Vinyl 7The forthcoming Yesterday Was History 45 finds The Circle Of Confusion return with their vocalist hero and Studio One legend Cornell Campbell. This, together with the same band and vocalist’s collab. Hole In The Ceiling all the way back in January, means that label Rocafort Records has more or less bookended the year with rootsy reggae 7″ gems. Ever so slightly more digi-dub in production than its predecessor, Campbell nevertheless continues to stick it to Babylon (“the way politicians lie/ corrupt the system and not there for I and I”) whilst calling for the people to working together, ‘to stop this misery,’ and sounds great while he does it. We can only hope such a message has a positive effect though it’s going to be an uphill struggle against some really quite jaw-dropping political mendacity on offer around the globe at the minute.
(Out 13 December on Rocafort Records)
