Matasuna Records probably ought to have some sort of award for services to Latin funk but it looks like it’ll have to do with MB praise and another fast-selling 45. Why? Because the label’s latest bit of seven inch wax is a re-release of 1975 salsa-funky cut La Inflacion De Ofelia by Miami band Adam’s Apple. And this time it’s not the B-side to a ballad but takes up a well-deserved both sides in its vocal and instrumental forms. As well it might with its itchy funk rhythm, squelchy wah-wah guitar and additional salsa percussion. It’s actually something of a companion piece to the label’s 2019 re-issue of Los Sobrinos Del Juez’ Harina De Maiz since that also was penned by Miami’s Eddie Helmer a.k.a. Elmer Rodriguez.
