WOXOW: Chaos Remixes + Vinyl 7″

WOXOW: Chaos RemixesYou may remember Chaos, the second single off Woxow’s debut LP Alcazar, not just as a conscious slice of boom-bap but also because the Italian producer managed to persuade not just rocksteady legend Ken Boothe to appear on it but also Akil from Jurassic 5 and Blurum 13 as well! With those sort of networking talents (alongside his knob-twiddling skills) it must have been no trouble at all to talk any number of people of into doing remixes. There’s Adelo Basileus for example, who takes things in a future funky direction, K+Lab who pulls all kinds of glitch tricks and Ed Solo with another ear-blistering dnb effort. Of most interest to MB readers however will be the DJ Maars and Proleter remixes. Maars plumps for a warm reggae riddim which is a natural fit with Boothe’s voice while Proleter arguable delivers the pick of the bunch by switching up the original’s atmospheric vibe for a bouncing bass heavy, keys-led boom-bap bump. Cop it on digital via your favourite source HERE – catch the reggae version by DJ Maars and yet another remix by DJ Smile on ltd. vinyl 7″ at your favourite vinyl store in May – but hurry – only 200 pressed!
