VARIOUS: Motor Jazz: Them To Us

VARIOUS: Motor Jazz: Them To Us If you felt that it had been a while since there’d been anything out of the Renegades Of Jazz camp, your wait is over since compilation Motor Jazz: Them To Us has just been released. The collection has been assembled by ROJ’s very own Mr David Hanke and collates fourteen tracks by fourteen different artists including one by Renegades Of Jazz and another by Funki Porcini. Broadly speaking the vibe is one of a jazzy aesthetic applied to cinematic, electronic and sometimes, but not exclusively, breakbeat-driven instrumental sounds – indeed – on occasion, things are positively ambient. Funki Porcini, for example closes the whole effort with a crackly and completely spaced-out beatless effort and Jon Sewi’s opener, too, is also beatless (at least to begin with) but makes up for that by sounding like whatever happens on the ninth circle of Hell. For those who prefer something a little more conventional, there’s always Black Soyls’ Gladdics and Stubby Dials’ 124 bpm breaks cut Put It On Ice. If that’s still not your cup of tea – check the second part of today’s Renegades Of Jazz-related news shortly with the discovery of a lost crate of Unifairfly 45s.
