As sure as night follows day, you can bet a label will bring out a remixes of something as big as the release of a Herbaliser LP like – er – Bring Out The Sounds and here we are with the Bring Out The Sounds Remixes. You probably wouldn’t this a remix album exactly though, for while Ollie Teeba and Jake Wherry’s eighth studio long player was thirteen cuts and a further five instro versions, this is only three remixes. Lest you think it’ll leave a

THE HERBALISER: Bring Out The Sounds Remixes
THE HERBALISER feat. JUST JACK: Seize The Day
With a new album (Bring Out The Sound) due shortly, The Herbaliser set about generating some pre-LP hype with new single Seize The Day. Seize the day? – how very pro-active – anyone helping you with that boys? Just Jack? Who’s Jack? Just kidding! You mean Caaamden Town vocalist Just Jack of course. Presumably that’s because his unmistakably British presence provides precisely

THE HERBALISER: There Were Seven – Remixes (2014)
Legendary UK stoner hip-hop producers The Herbaliser were last heard of in 2012 when they re-surfaced four years on from their previous full-length effort with the There Were Seven LP to remind everyone they were still – like – making music. Man. Obviously with such a ‘less haste, more weed’ approach to production you can’t expect them to go around rushing out a remix

MR JASON: Mr Jason Has A Posse (2012) video + DJ Format remix + Son Of Frankensteez EP
Mr Jason’s Mr Jason Has A Posse featured on his Frankensteez LP from last year and features in remix format (courtesy of – er – DJ Format) on the Son Of Frankensteez EP, due any day. By definition, a ‘posse cut’ is four or more rappers on a ‘joint’ although clearly for Mr Jason any track with a mere four rappers is some sort of ‘pussy’ cut. Why? Because the Porn Theater Ushers

Our all-time favourite funky, forward-thinking, experimental hip-hop collective The Herbaliser make a welcome return to form with their full 10-piece band in anticipation of The Herbaliser’s “Herbal Tonic” ‘best of’ release on Ninja Tune in June 2010. Founded by Ollie Teeba and Jake Wherry during the 90s, the Herbaliser have been responsible for some of the most memorable releases during Ninja Tune’s early years. Their unique fusion of Jazz and Hip Hop is best experienced when seen live, and in Koko’s beautiful surroundings this promises to be a very special set full of good vibes, lush instrumentation and plenty of colourful sounds!

Tripped-out beat-makers supreme Anti Pop Consortium join them; one of the most unique and progressive hip-hop outfits in the world they’ve found the perfect mix of smooth rhymes, group wordplays and psychedelic bass-lines which they use to entertain the crowds at their shows in a distinctly APC manner. Classic tracks such as ‘Ping Pong’ blend seemlessly in to newer joints like ‘Volcano’, all tied together with some properly brilliant avant-garde beat jams and accompanied by the ever smiling faces of four blokes LOVING what they do! Its infectious stuff…
