It’s that Virginian again – Spark Arrester that is, with new EP Betwixt The Lines. And betwixt the lines he is, not to mention crossing them, re-crossing them and doubling back as he weaves in and out of breaks, glitch-hop and nufunk mingling original composition with samples. Stomp Thang kicks off with tense violin and briefly threatens to go all gypsy on your ass before the modern kicks in. Beat Root mixes up the human voice with glitchy FX and crunchy drums while closer Waiting speaks of sunrise with its digital horns and piano tinkles over pulsing bass and breaks. But this one’s all about Bad Move which is anything but as soul shouts vie with horns over the beats.
