SOUL FLIP EDITS 9: If You Ever Get Your Hands On Love / Sneakin’ Sally Through The Alley (Vinyl 7″)

SOUL FLIP EDITS: If You Ever Get Your Hands On Love / Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley (Vinyl 7[RATING: 5] Is it Soul Flip time again? You know it is – volume 9 coming at ya with a bullet on either side. First up is Gladys Knight & The Pips’ If You Ever Get Your Hands On Love and if you’ve ever spent time listening to original northern soul, you’ll know that while the rhythm is strong, those sixties production values didn’t necessarily prioritise the drums in the mix or the bottom end. Del Gazeebo and Aldo have got you sorted on that score though with a few extended sections and other additional tweaks all sympathetically done. Then they give the Lee Dorsey’s original version of the Allen Toussaint-penned New Orleans funk cut (and philanderer’s anthem), Sneakin Sally Through The Alley a boost on the monkey’s preferred side. Get your hands on this!
(Out 9 December on Soul Flip)
