[RATING: 5] Man, looks like I broke out a new pair of Puma Suedes just in time! Renegades Of Jazz is about to go totally off the northern jazz piste with the totally off-the-chain funky soulful b-boy breaks of Gonna Break This Chain. It doesn’t get much better than that right? Wrong. Digital flip Gimme Some (More) is a phat 100 bpm slab of instro-hop tweaked with ‘golden age’ of soul andfunk vocal cuts and shout-outs. No need to give me some of that, I’ll be taking it thanks. Top quality ideas and heavy as fuck production as always but now Renegades Of Jazz are the last word in funky b-boy breaks as well as jazzy b-boy breaks. Rawkingcuts indeed. Only the humble Juno player for audio though until this shit goes all the way live!
