OONOPS: Oonops Drops vinyl 7″ label launch

Oonops DropsNow then, you run a bi-monthly podcast on Brooklyn Radio in NYC called ‘Oonops Drops’ and you’re going to launch a label to ‘drop’ wax 45 heat, but what to call the label? Tough one eh? I’d go with ‘Oonops Drops‘ – and purely coincidentally you understand – this is precisely what our man DJ Oonops did. The label has just launched, following the success of Oonops’ selections for Resense with five 45s and two LPs already available to buy or pre-order now on the Bandcamp page which is fast work, I think you’ll agree. The 45s come from Shin-Ski and Smoove (both of whom also featured among Oonops’ Resense edits choices) along with The Gaff, Andy Cooper and Lisa Decker & Nautilus – all reliable names guaranteed to get punters amped. Meanwhile the LPs are Vol. 2 of Oonops’ dub, jazz, soul, beats and hip-hop selections for his Brooklyn Radio podcast and the full Lisa Decker & Nautilus LP, Serendipity. The Oonops Drops label isn’t just about services to the vinyl-buying public though either. Nope, this project is all about being sustainable and environmentally friendly with all wax pressed at the world’s most sustainable pressing plant and all deliveries going by DHL’s greenest option. So while global big business might have dropped the ball on the environment, the only thing Oonops is dropping is wax science.
