MINED & FORREST: Coming Through EP

MINED & FORREST: Coming Through EPStand aside please, Mined & Forrest coming through with – er – Coming Through, the follow-up to their previous extended play effort on Breakbeat Paradise – There It Is. And while they might sound like some sort of psychic detective duo, their work is rather more grounded in solid twenty-first breakbeat music. The title cut is mid-tempo Snoop n strings-assisted synth business followed by the similarly synth-rich but more lively Lyte-augmented Rock On and glitchy downtempo-ish collabo I Would Fall featuring LAWN, Stephanie Lottermoser, Eve Lamell and a bit of 80s saxophone. The balance of this five-tracker is made up of a brace of remixes – the emo-breaks of Blockboy’s take on I Would Fall (a game of two halves that starts out glitchily before upping gear into a more epic strings-based instrumental beat), and Funkanizer’s lively rerub of Funk Toxic.
