LOS SOBRINOS DEL JUEZ: Harina De Maiz / Corned Beef Hash (Vinyl 7″)

LOS SOBRINOS DEL JUEZ: Harina De Maiz / Corned Beef Hash (Vinyl 7Now then, how about some wah-wah fuelled Latin funk 45 action? Perhaps Los Sobrinos Del Juez’s Harina De Maiz from their self-titled 1974 album? Yes, that should do nicely. Of course on its original 45 release, this track was the B-side to salsa cut Mortifica. Now it’s an A-side what to make the B-side? Go with Mortifica but demote it? Or cop a different cut off the same album? It’s the second! Yep, Matasuna give a ‘first time on 45’ experience to the lively Latin jazz of Corned Beef Hash and you’ll be glad they did. Both products of the fertile mind of Carlos Oliva, these tracks provide early seventies examples of the richness of the ‘Miami Sound.’  N.B. It’s a vinyl-only drop so if you want the digital files, you’ll need to cop the wax to get ’em.
(Out 30 August on Matasuna Records)
