ED MEME feat. APOLLO NEGRI: Young Scene (2013)

Bit of a mod groover here as Ed Meme (a.k.a. The Impellers’ Glenn Fallows) covers KPM king Keith Mansfield’s ’68 cut Young Scene and hooks up with hammond hound Apollo Negri to supplant horns with keys from the start, add in some extra percussion and make it sound not so much like a tv theme. Not that that was Keith’s fault especially, since his stock in trade was creating tv library music. On the flip it’s a fat shuffling break and nufunk vocals courtesy of Guests Of Nature. While I was playing this one, MB tea lady Loretta May and MB taxi driver Jazzy Dave happened to both be in the office. Loretta liked the break, Dave liked the vocals and frankly – never the twain shall meet. And it had all been so peaceful…
