Budapest breaks producer Clairvo pops his 2015 release cherry with the car chase-themed Rally In Rio. It’s a four tracker which starts with – er – the almost house-y No, No, No before shifting up a gear to the spacey latin breaks of Funk Is which features a latin melody, that neighing horse sample from Insane In The Brain and the kind of facetious vocal that used to be Yello’s stock-in-trade. The title track injects what sounds like a nifty car horn sample over the most substantial break yet before a paranoid funk breakdown followed by swelling horns. What this drop is really all about though is the wistful samba-isms of the trumpets on Do You Wanna Be Cool? though.
