CAMILO AZUQUITA: Borombon/ PANAMA BRASS: Con La Mano En La Biblia (Vinyl 7″)

CAMILO AZUQUITA: Borombon/ PANAMA BRASS: Con La Mano En La BibliaYour heating costs more than your mortgage and it’s barely been above zero degrees all week; what you need my friend is some vintage Latin heat! Which means you’ve lucked out because Matasuna Records is here with a new vinyl 7″ featuring two sides of Panamanian heat from 1969. The A-side vocal cut is Camilo Azuquita’s version of Javier Vasquez’ boogaloo number Borombon – a sinuous dancefloor filler that those with keen ears might have caught on the OST to Better Call Saul. Meanwhile, on the flip it’s the first time on 45 for Panama Brass’s Con La Mano En La Biblia a Latin jazz instrumental no less likely to prompt a mass shimmy. You’re feeling warmer already, right?
(Out 16 December on Matasuna Records)
