Happily though, there’s a shining beacon amid the misery – namely that the start of the month will be greeted by Plymouth’s 14th best dj, Aldo Vanucci who follows up his excellent Love Is Loops EP with an even better volume 2. Three neo-northern soul bangers and a slab of daisy age hip-hop anyone? Thought so. Kylie Auldist is back on stomper Get A Hold On This which turns on a chopped up sample of Clarence Reid’s funky soul cut Nobody But You Babe. Vocalist Boo graces the sweet Something Bout The Way, So Good ups the tempo again and alternates northern soul stomp with funky breaks in b-boy pleasing fashion leaving Washington DC emcee Stone Kawala to help Aldo close proceedings in fine style with a De La-style beat and rhyme.
